For seamless map-battle scene transitions you would either need to event your battles as part of the exploration or use some kind of script (a.k.a. I have focused on map display here, since I believe all the makers offer an enemy-facing, a.k.a. There's a "3D" projection-style plugin for MV (see linked discussion), I'm not sure if there is something like it planned, or already available, for other makers. 2000/2003 don't offer scripting, and I don't know much about script options for XP/VX/VX Ace. If you want 3D-looking transitions as you move around, then scripts/plugins would probably be the easiest way to go about it. (Note that plugins for MV are generally not compatible as-is with MZ, and vice-versa.)īasically, if you're OK constructing the viewpoint with eventing & pictures then any RPG Maker will be OK. With it’s built-in coordinate system this plugin allows you to place up to four. There was a discussion about first-person stuff on the RPG Maker MV boards: link. This plugin facilitates the creation of a maze-like dungeon by allowing you to group a sequence of maps into up to three playlists, drawing a random result from the pool and transferring the player to it when the map’s edge is reached. there's also a limited version of VX Ace available on Steam, called VX Ace Lite. In case you're interested, you can find limited trial versions over here: With RPG Maker MV, you can make your very own game without any programming knowledge whatsoever. The problem is: Re-creating my old game on RPG Maker MV, I dont see any random dungeon generator. The events you placed on the map were safe, the random map generator worked around it. I think the biggest change so far may have been the introduction of traits (VX Ace?). My old RPG Maker 2003 game had an option of creating randomized dungeons (maps). The makers (2000, 2003, XP, VX, VX Ace, MV, MZ) are all pretty similar in terms of ease-of-use.
